Ghindeni School wins "Made for Europe" Prize

The Romanian Ministry of Education organized a national competition of the results and outcomes from projects financed with EU funding. From 2011 onwards, when the representative from the Ghindeni School won the 1st prize at the National Phase, each year the school has participated in the regional phase. During the last 3 years, (2016 until 2018), we won the 1st prize at the regional level and our students were invited to represent our European projects at the National phase.

On 26th of March 2018, Bianca Radu, a 6th grade student, together with 6 colleagues, presented at the regional phase the product “Corridor of Democracy”, which is a result from the Civic Education and Democracy Education activities of this New Educations in Promoting Transversal Skills project.

16 projects’ outcomes of Dolj County schools were presented. Ghindeni School was the only school from rural area, but this wasn’t an impediment. It showed that quality work, with the right "soul”, can be made everywhere.

For the contest the school prepared a set of Democratic Rules, produced by its students and exhibited in the school corridor. For the contest, the "corridor” was made by the students, as if they were “live posters”. By walking among them, the girl learns the rights and obligations of children at home, at school and in society.

The jury was impressed by the students’ presentation, so they sent them to the National Phase of „Made for Europe” contest, which will take place in Constanta, a major city on the coast of the Black Sea.
