Staff training and pupils exchange in Wieliczka, Poland

From 24 until 28 April 2017, the project partners of New Educations gathered in Poland for its first five day training event held in Wieliczka, Poland. The theme of the training was "Education for Personal Development" and the focus was on the transversal skills that teachers need today: motivation, teamwork, learning, creativity, communication, assertive behaviour, conflict management skills.

More than 20 teachers, trainers, pedagogues or career advisors coming from the various New Educations project partners participated in the learning and training activities as well as in several group building and socio-cultural events.

At the same time more than 40 students from the partner institutions worked together with Polish students in activities linked to the partnership objective, on the same theme “Education for personal development”. This eventful week left a great impression on all partners and students. The training week was extremely well organised by the Polish partners from Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. J. Matejki w Wieliczce in Wieliczka.

The Auschwitz Birkenau Camp

 

The programme included beside intensive workshops on creativity and conflict management also a visit to the World Heritage Salt Mine, to the beautiful city of Krakow to the Concentration Camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau. In the camp of Auschwitz all participated in more educational workshops that shaped the individual and collective memory of Auschwitz.
