Between 18-22 September 2017, two teachers, Hanife Karakaya and Ilknur Aktas from Manisa Social Sciences High School, participated in the learning/training activity in Barcelona,Spain. The training activity was about Democracy Education and it was organised by DEMÀ. DEMÀ is a non-profit association which works in the field of adult education, along with many others. The whole group joined in the workshops in the morning and in the afternoon there were trips to places connected with democracy and education. Through the workshops, the teachers got new ideas about how to introduce, discuss and include democracy related issues in their classrooms. Moreover, Barcelona was a very interesting city to observe how the concept of democracy is handled, applied and kept alive in different fields of city administration. Our teachers thank the organisers for their hospitality, sincerity and all the effort they put to host the whole event. Also, they are grateful for the cordial company of all colleagues around Europe.
