Liceo A. Bertolucci is a High State School which offers three different profiles: Maths and Science, Music, Sport . It was founded in 2007 and it counts 35 classes and about 850 students between 14 and 19 years of age.
Liceo Bertolucci has been chosen by The National Plan for Digital Schools of The Italian Ministry of Education as one of the most advanced institutions in the field of digital approach. For this reason it has become one of the 36 School 2.0 over the Italian territory and it is a regional pole for dedicated teachers’ training. The school also belongs to the Educational Avant-gardes movement that wants to systematize the most innovative and effective experiences of transformation of the Italian school system.
Following the indications of the Italian National Reform, the school is:
- teacher training centre for C.L.I.L.,
- teacher training centre for the use of ICT in education
- teacher training centre of Project Innova
The aim of the school is to fulfill the potential of each individual student and to do so in a safe and caring environment that aims at the highest international standards. Its objective is to develop the individual talents of young people and teach them to relate the experience of the classroom to the realities of the world outside. Strong emphasis is placed on the ideals of international understanding and responsible citizenship, to the end that pupils may become critical and compassionate thinkers, lifelong learners and informed participants in local and world affairs, conscious of the shared humanity that binds all people together while respecting the variety of cultures and attitudes that makes for the richness of life.
